For Mother’s Day this year I got pampered and a complete makeover by my two little guys. We were on the road somewhere in The NT and my day in the caravan started with an arm tickle and hair brushing and combing, followed by my teeth getting brushed. Then I was allowed to get dressed and next came the 67 hair clips and ties and then make up. They had the best time. I had the best time. I walked around all day with those 67 hair clips in my hair proud as punch showing them off
Simple math isn’t it. Move more to burn more energy. Our lifestyles aren’t conducive to it really though are they. Life is so busy and we all just think “I can’t. It’s too hard.” But it’s important. Very important. Just like drinking enough water and trying to eat more healthy foods. We need to move. We used to be cavemen who were avid hunters and gatherers and now we sit at desks, sit on our smartphones and devices and lay back on the couch to watch Netflix. We are parents w
Have you heard of Ninja Juice? Well, that’s what my kids call it. Currently it’s my lifeline at 8 months pregnant. Have you ever felt like you could nod off at any time? Have you ever reached for something sweet at 3pm? Have you ever got home from school pick up and wished you could pop your PJs on and crawl into bed? Have you wanted to ever get motivated to go for a walk but just CBF? (Can’t Be F*cked). Me too. If it wasn’t for 60ml of this a day I’d of succumbed to winter a
I never used to get so excited about cleaning the house or Spring Cleaning like I do now. I love the fresh smell of my house when I’m in the midst of making a mess before some sort of order is restored. I spray everything with my Thieves Household Cleaner Concentrate diluted into a spray bottle. It smells like clove and cinnamon, a little like Christmas. Would you believe that 15ml mixed into a 500ml spray bottle works out at just $1.40? How cheap is that!!??! You cannot buy
That old ad from the 80’s I believe, do you remember it? “Would you like a cup of tea and a biscuit as well?” I can’t even recall what they were selling. Cups of tea and coffee are the new black. Everyone is doing it. People ‘do’ coffee. So many people stop for coffee daily or more than once a day. There’s coffee Drive Thru’s and coffee shops on every corner. Even the local servo has takeaway coffee. Then there’s me. I don’t ‘do’ coffee or tea. Can’t stand it. I can tolerate
Life isn’t always peachy. Let’s face it. We all struggle and have challenges daily. Life is busy and stressful and we all multitask to the max. We are spread so thin and wear so many different hats at once. We worry about cooking, cleaning, making sure everyone gets places on time, working, everyone eats well, we get enough sleep, exercise, watch our budgets and keep the peace. One thing I can tell you however, is that how you deal with the craziness of life depends on your e
How bad is mummy guilt? I have to pull my head in regularly to remember I am not superwoman and simply cannot do everything all the time. I feel guilty for not reading a book, saying "sorry I can't play with you right now" and for occasionally being late for school pick up. I feel guilty for forgetting I was supposed to make a cubby house for them that morning, for doing baked beans on toast now and then for dinner and for being tired and grumpy. I I feel guilty for not havin
Yummy food. How good is it? A nourishing, well created little morsel made with love is even better. You deserve to enjoy food. You deserve to treat yourself to some well made yummy food now and then. I am a Mother of almost 3 and meal times are not my most favourite time of the day. Don't get me wrong, I love eating as a family when we can and sharing delicious food, showing our little ones that it is normal to eat broccoli and cabbage (insert eye roll here!). However, I find
STINK! Have you watched it? STINK! is a documentary on Netflix about a Father of two young girls who lost his wife to breast cancer. He heads off on a mission to find our why the girls' Christmas pyjamas stink like some sort of chemical concoction. It was recommended to me by a friend to watch and I was blown away at the information presented. I could not believe that such a large percentage of ingredients found in our washing powders, perfumes, hair care, make up and cleanin
